1970# — the year the Lemon Drop Martini first brightened a glass and to night its only $15 along with a handful of other martinis.
Born in San Francisco in the 1970s, the Lemon Drop Martini was created by Norman Jay Hobday at Henry Africa’s, one of the city’s first fern bars. Hobday’s vision was simple: a cocktail as approachable and refreshing as it was elegant — a perfect blend of tart lemon, smooth vodka, and just enough balance of tart and sweet to keep you coming back for another sip.
It quickly became a California classic, spreading coast to coast, and still holds its place as one of the most beloved martinis ever shaken.
Tonight, we’re pouring them with a little extra love — crisp, bright, and ice-cold.
